Old brass cast ruyi feature a full dragon and plum flower branches along the piece. A Chinese ruyi scepter is a curved decorative talisman meaning “as desired” or “as you wish”. Features a long, graceful S-shaped handle with a head shaped like a cloud, a fist, or a lingzhi (longevity) fungus.

It evolved from ancient court items into a symbol of power, good fortune, and longevity. Started as primitive bone or bamboo back-scratchers, later shifting into court-held authority tablets (hu) during early dynasties.
