Old Nepalese brass Manjushri. Hand casted with delicate gilded and hand painted face and silver robe. Heavy brass with delicate details of work on the crown and dress. One piece only.
Manjushri is a bodhisattva associated with prajna(insight) in Mahayana buddhism, . His name means “gentle glory” in sanskrit. His wisdom is not learned knowledge, but the highest intuitive wisdom. He sits on the lotus flower holding aloft a sword in his right hand, symbolizes cutting off the darkness of ignorance.
