Hand carved red muti-color sandstone Rati. One of our most well carved stone sculpture. She is elegant, beautiful and tender looking. With lots of carefully carved ornaments throughout her headdress, face and her body. She certainly represents the goddess of love. we do recommend keeping it indoors or some winter protection if leave it outdoors.
Rati, she is the Hindu goddess of love, desire, passion and pleasure. Commonly described as the daughter of Prajapati Daksha. Rati is the female counterpart, the chief consort and the assistant of Kama (Kamadeva), the god of love. A constant companion of Kama. She is often depicted with him in legend and temple sculpture. She also enjoys worship along with Kama.
This is an old sculpture we have from India, though one corner of the base was broken during shipping. We keep all the pieces for fixing purpose and has reflected on the price. Kindly check pictures for more details. Very beautiful and one of a kid piece. Carved in Northern India.
