Description
Rare one of a kind art quality lost wax brass Nandi. This large hand cast lost wax Nandi, was created by national award winning sculpture master Pak Malik, from Java Indonesia. The muscle lines on Nandi shows great strength, while the recline posture indicates his patient and loyalty towards god Shiva. Amazingly beautiful design of mandala on Nandi’s back. A truly outstanding Nandi we ever have over the years.
One of the few retired treasure pieces Pak Malik had kept for his own. We are honored and grateful to have a few of these amazing pieces from him. Just like we are honored to have work with artists like him for the past forty years.
Nandi also known as Nandikeshwara or Nandideva, is the bull vahana of the Hindu god Shiva. The Sanskrit word nandi has the meaning of happy, joy, and satisfaction. He is also the guardian deity of Kailash, the abode of Shiva. Almost all Shiva temples display stone-images of a seated Nandi, generally facing the main shrine.
