Magnificent lost wax cast brass multi Brahma head. Which has an antique greenish brownish patina and sits perfectly on a black stand. This particular piece with Brahma heads facing all four directions and stacking atop each other is a stunning piece.
Brahma is a Hindu god, referred to as “the Creator” within the Trimurti, the trinity of supreme divinity that includes Vishnu and Shiva. He is associated with creation, knowledge, and the Vedas. Brahma is the Vedic god Prajapati. During the post-Vedic period, Brahma was a prominent deity and his sect existed.
Brahma is traditionally depicted with four faces and four arms. Each face of his points to a cardinal direction. His four mouths are credited with creating the four Vedas. Brahma’s wife is the goddess Saraswati. She is considered to be “the embodiment of his power, the instrument of creation and the energy that drives his actions”.
Some Brahma temples outside of India, such as at the Erawan Shrine in Bangkok, which in turn has found immense popularity within the Thai Buddhist community.
