Description
A group of 9 feet tall Chinese panel slightly over 100 years old. Beautiful hand carved Chinese wood panel with intricate symmetrical cloud lattice over the top part of the panel. Framed with floral pattern on top and bottom, a small people in the garden scene section below the cloud lattice. The lattice on each panel was designed so the air could flow without keeping the door open. Some people would covered the section with silk for more privacy in the old days.
This type of door panels are usually use in the living hall to separate the garden into the indoor hallway. Also commonly use to separate the living hall into two section. Where the female family could hang out in the back for private gathering. The door panels are over 8 feet tall to connect from beneath the roof line to the floor.
We got these door panels from a well designed and furnished estate. The originally owner got them from southern China, FuJian , Zhejiang area. Who used them as a moveable wall with roller tracks on top and at the bottom. For the space between the office and meeting room area. Three of which were used as a decorative panel behind the altar table in the living hall.
