Description

Late 18th to Early 19th century column base. They were used to support guardian figured or architecture into the grand and imposing surroundings of a courtyard during Qing dynasty. Flanking the entryway with its protective presence. Each carved from one whole piece of gray marble stone, these columns are composed of two sections: a drum-shaped top intricately patterned in low relief and a tiered architectural bottom portions.

These are definitely some of our most astonishing stone bases in pair we have, from historical purpose, size to carving. In great condition. One of a kind.

Kindly noted that there are two Kirlin guardians (Similar purpose to foo dogs)in the pictures. They are just place atop to show function of the column bases.
