Durga is a form of the Hindu Goddess Parvati. The goddess of war. In this sculpture Durga mounts a lion, with many arms each carrying a weapon. Made in Indonesia.
Durga is a central deity in the Shaktism tradition of Hinduism. Equated with the concept of Brahman. Very well known and worshipped all over India, Bangladesh and Nepal.
