Antique Japanese butsudan shrine. Butsudan (Buddhist altar), sometimes spelled as Butudan. Often found in temples and homes in Japan.
A beautiful hand carved ornate wooden cabinet. Crafted with doors that enclose and protect religious statues or paintings. Still some used offering items inside. The primary use of it is for paying respects to the Buddha, as well as to family members who have died.
Condition shown as in the pictures. Originally from Japan.
