Description
Hollow hand cast iron Guan Yin ( Guanyin, Guan Yin, Kwan Yin or Kuan Yin ). The most commonly used Chinese translation of the bodhisattva known as Avalokiteśvara. Chinese Goddess of Mercy. Her face with a serene expression with downcast eyes. Traces of gold gilding to the face. With fainted gold, red and green paint on the crown and the robe. Bow shaped full mouth, arched eyebrows, elongated earlobes, a diadem incised with a floral motif. Evidence of genuine aging through out the sculpture. This Guan Yin was hand painted with color, gold line lotus throughout her robe. Which is a much older way and required very defined skill to have one perfect piece.
