A fine art quality hand-carved Buddha face in an ancient tree root. The piece is original, primitive and in excellent condition. The root itself is over 100 years old. Carved from a tree root that became available when typhoon hit the village and got blown down. The carver kept most of the root intact, showing its original form and his attachment to nature. An exploration or the artists hand and natures work in harmony. An appreciation of a hundred years of life in the humble artist’s hand. In most part of Asia, good quality hand carved wood sculptures created from genetic mutations known as burls are highly sought after. This increases the sculptures value both in the art work and in its natural beauty.
