The vases depict symbols that both ancient and contemporary Chinese folklore. Gods and fairies hold peaches in their hands. The peaches and the cranes usually mean immortality in Chinese folklore.The elephant handles on both side, as well as the royal elephant lid on top all represent the symbol of royal status.
