Description
Japanese Meiji period small chest Ko Tansu made in late 19th century. Antique Ko Tansu (small personal storage chest) made entirely of Kirinoki wood (Paulownia wood). Original hand made iron hardware with Hako and Warabite handles in front. Unique 5 drawer design with two more secret drawers inside a door, used as a storage for valuable jewlery and trinkets. Straight dovetail Japanese joinery with hardened wood nail construction.
Japanese Meiji period tansu chest circa 1880-1900. Some normal usage mark through the years. Kindly check the pictures for better details. Over all in pretty good condition. This would function well as an elegant side table or a bedside nightstand in your elegant home.
