Antique brass temple bell features a roaring singa symbol atop the bell handle. Beautiful etch patterns surround the bell. Old but remain in very good condition. The sound is crisp and loud as well.
The Kerinchi were originally from the eastern coast of Sumatra. In ancient wars with Muslim sultanates, they fled to the interior of the island. They then settled in the current location, which is high in the Bukit Barisan Mountains.
Some studies have linked the Kerinchi with the Minangkabau of western Sumatra, but they actually more closely associated with the Rejang. The Kerinchi have managed to survive as a isolate separate group.
One of a kind.
