Hand carved Nandi from lava stone. As the sacred gatekeepers of old Shiva temple. Antique old piece, the moss on Nandi was grown since it was in the temple in Java, and has grown back year after year. Time revivals on this beautiful sculpture.  Nandi is the vehicle of the Hindu god Shiva. Only one piece. Originally from Java, Indonesia.

Nandi, also known as Nandikeshvara or Nandideva, is the bull vahana (mount) of the Hindu god Shiva. He is also the guardian deity of Kailash, the abode of Shiva. Almost all Shiva temples display stone images of a seated Nandi, generally facing the main shrine.
