Balinese Wayang Golek Rama. Wayang means puppet,Golek means rod (the puppets are operated by wooden rods). Therefore,Wayang Golek means Rod Puppets.
The head of the puppet is the most intricately carved section, and the face of a bird was carved into the back of the headdress. The dress on the puppet is handmade from the textile called batik. Which is a traditional wear for Balinese. The arms are carved into two sections: shoulder to elbow, and hand to elbow. So,the body can turn. And the arms can move around when the puppeteer plays.
