From Sumba Island in Indonesia. Traditionally, these omega-shaed pieces, known as ‘Mamuli’ were used as earrings when elongated earlobes were the norm in Sumba. However, in modern days these pieces are now worn mostly as pendants. Because metals are believed to come from the sun and the stars, these pieces are used as a connection to spirits in traditional religion.
$125 each, sold individually. Each pieces comes on the iron stand shown.
