Description
This is an antique, hand carved wood piece from a Taoist temple in Taiwan. The Five House Chanshui is a group of deities that are very commonly found in Taiwan. People there believe they help the heaven god to maintain peaceful life for mankind. They also have the power to plague an area where people are behave poorly to the environment or mankind. This piece dates to the late 19th/ early 20th Century. One of a kind.
