A wonderful Korean celadon vase in Goryeo style, early 20th century. With two elephant heads and trunks as handles on both side of the vase. The body masterfully and robustly carved with a bold design of large flowering peony sprays. The bottom of the vase with design of lotus petals.
The vase is evenly glazed with a glassy finish, the glaze pooling beautifully over the carved areas. The glaze thinning in some recessed areas which makes the carved patterns stand out better. A great piece of art. In good condition.
