Krishna with Butter

Boy Krishna depicted eating butter out of a clay pot. In this depiction, he is also known as “Makhan Chor,” or ‘Butter thief.’ As the story goes, Krishna would eat butter from houses in his village at night when no one would see. Symbolically, the white butter represents the purity of his devotees hearts, as Krishna is the god who captures pure hearts.
