Old Tibetan Kapala Buddhist Metal Turtle Mask. This turtle shell mask is decorated with hammered thin metal features skulls, called kapalas, around the perimeter.
The inside of the turtle shell is not covered. Which allow it to show the age and authenticity by the skeleton of the turtle.This mask and shell are in excellent condition. A very collectible piece of Tibetan ritual mask.

Note: NO animals were harmed in the making of the piece. The shell from this carving/ ritual item / sculpture come from the turtle that die of natural course. The people there respect and revere the animals, and after harvesting the animals to feed their families, they use every part of the animal, including the shell in this case. As a way to honor the animal’s life and their culture.
