Old large Tibetan Mahakala dragon pot. With two dragons as the handle of the pot, and as the spout. Fully covered with carved or etched pattern and Tibetan letters. There are also total of four Mahakala etched on both side of the tea pot body and bottom. Handmade with copper and hand inlay with many tiny stones.Though most of the stones were missing through the years from use and travel. There’s also a small bump on one side of the spout near the lower section. Some patina in tiny area as shown in the pictures. Kindly check photographs for better details. Originally from Nepal.
Mahakala is a tantric Buddhist deity of Vajrayana tradition. One of the most important Dharmapala or protector of dharma, and considered to be the wrathful and fierce emanation of Avalokiteshvara and Cakrasaṃvara.
