Description
A very rare Japanese painting on wood. Originally from Bunsei (文政) era. The reigning emperor was Ninko-tenno (仁孝天皇). he was the 120th Emperor of Japan, according to the traditional order of succession. The characters on top of the painting 奉納 means dedication. The painting create an image of a group of people gathering together in order to contribute their wisdom for the emperor.
There are more characters on the side of the painting, which means : In July, Bunsei (nengo, year name) 13th year. It indicated when the painting was finished. On the back of the painting, there were also characters indicated it was framed in September Bunsei thirteen year .
Originally got it from a private Japanese art collector. The painting is in great condition. Both the painting and framing. Kindly check pictures for more details. Rare one of a kind piece.
