Avalokiteśvara ( also known as Padmapani ) is a bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. Often portrayed in the traditions of Tibet and Japan. The heads represent the 11 virtues (including non-attachment, non-violence, and faith). The 1,000 arms symbolize his many powers. Which he uses to lead all beings toward enlightenment. The central pair of arms is shown in a gesture of prayer. While the outer arms often adorned with eyes, signify his ability to see in all directions to identify suffering.
