Description
Kalaga means “curtain” in Burmese. Although Burmese refer to such tapestries as shwe gyi do (‘gold thread embroidery’). A heavily embroidered tapestry made of silk, flannel, felt, wool and lace against a background made of cotton or velvet indigenous in Burma (Myanmar). This one with the elephant in the center and 12 zodiacs around it.
