Description
A rare find antique Japanese wooden sake barrel. This one is called “TSUNODARU”, which means double horn. Indicated the two handles on both sides of the barrel. Used in ceremonial events, like a wedding or company opening.
Made of wood, coopering barrel technique /construction. Strips of bamboo are twisted and used to bind/hold the pieces of wood together. Entire surface was painted with clear coat lacquer. In good condition. Some of bamboo strips are splitting. And part of the wood the paint was scratched off. Over all structure is fully intact.
One of a kind piece. Originally from Japan.
