Antique Chinese Carved Jade Pillow

This ritual jade pillow is in very good condition. No repairs or reconstructions found. The jade pillow is 11 inches long.
Ancient royal Chinese use jade pillows while sleeping to cool down the head’s temperature. The shape of the pillow massages certain nerves in the neck that Chinese believed would keep them healthy.
This nephrite jade pillow has it original, dark-green color that is accented with beautiful dragon head images on both end. Both the front and the back, as well as the top piece hand carved double dragon motifs of the pillow. The pillow was design to be able to open from the top as a secret area to contain important items while sleep.
The jade shows light pitting and differential weathering, but yet has a wonderful patina from the white mineral deposits. Please check the photos as part of the description.
