Antique Japanese Taisho Period Ko Tansu

Japanese Taisho period small chest Ko Tansu made during early-20th century. Antique Ko Tansu (small personal storage chest) made entirely of Kirinoki wood (Paulownia wood). Original hand made iron hardware with Hako and Warabite handles in front. Great design with the iron lock area, in crane, floral design. Unique 4 drawer design with three more secret drawers inside a door, used as a storage for valuable jewlery and trinkets. Straight dovetail Japanese joinery with hardened wood nail construction.

Japanese Taisho period tansu chest circa 1912-1926. Some normal usage mark through the years. Kindly check the pictures for better details. Over all in pretty good condition. This would function well as an elegant side table or a bedside nightstand in your elegant home.
