Vintage cast brass Hanuman carrying the herb bearing mountain( Sanjeevani ) in his right hand, mace in the left hand. Hand cast in beautiful traditional Javanese costume and headdress. Standing atop a lotus base atop a leveled base. This is showing Hanuman in his power form.
Hanuman’s beloved Lord Rama’s brother Lakshmana was badly injured. A vaidya (Ayurvedic healer) claimed that he could be revived with a certain herb from a particular mountain in the Himalayas. Hanuman flew to the mountain, but found that it was covered in many different herbs. He couldn’t confidently identify it. So Hanuman simply carried the whole mountain back, to ensure he got the right herb for Lakshmana.
