Delicate Carved Sandstone Ganesha Dance

Hand carved sandstone Ganesha out of one piece of sandstone. While sandstone is typically seen as a tan color, this sandstone piece from Jodhpur, India has a reddish yellowish color due to the presence of iron oxide within its structure.

Ganesha is depicted holding his broken tusk in one hand an a delicacy in the other. The back of the piece is flat. He’s dancing atop a lotus base, with his mount Mushika at the corner of the base. Although the piece is sandstone, they are able to remain outdoors. This particular piece has been out in front of our location in the States for many winters.

Stunning one of a kind piece. There was a fix on one of Ganesha’s finger. Still amazing over all otherwise. The price has reflected the fixed section.
