Shiva and Shakti are manifestations of the all-in-one divine consciousness. According to Shaivism, there is a divine masculine energy that takes the form of the Hindu god, Shiva. And a divine feminine energy that takes the form of the goddess, Shakti.
Both Shiva and Shakti are alive in both men and women. All of us have divine masculine (Shiva) aspects and divine feminine (Shakti) aspects to our being. Only when Shiva and Shakti combine can action, movement and creation arise.Through the splitting of the primordial principle at the advent of creation the duality within our lives came into being, together with a strong force that is constantly striving to re-unite with the other part.
