Old brass gold gilded Buddha in Bhumisparasa ( Earth Touching ) Mudra. There’s a very peaceful look of the Buddha’s face. He’s wearing a Chinese style Buddhist robe and sitting atop a beautifully made lotus base. originally from China. One of a kind.
The Bhumisparasa mudra (position) symbolise the moment when Buddha attained enlightenment under the Bodhi tree. By touching the earth he was calling the earth goddess, Sthavara, to bear witness to the event.
