Description
An antique Meiji era Japanese Tsuruoka Bo Tansu (chest with locking bar) made of Sugi (Cryptomeria) wood. Chest is embellished with designed detailed hardware of lotus pattern. Original Urushi lacquer finish and hand forged iron hardware. The key for releasing the bar comes with the tansu. Six drawers (Four outside, two inside the door at the bottom.) of wonderful secure storage area. Tansu chest originally came from a private owner who used to live in Japan back in the 70th.
