Old Chinese Embroidered Altar Cloth Eight Immortals

Beautiful early 20th century Chinese altar table cloth featuring exquisitely hand-embroidered depictions of the Eight Immortals, one of the most beloved symbolic themes in Chinese mythology and Daoist tradition. Richly detailed with extensive gold thread embroidery, the textile displays remarkable craftsmanship and a luminous decorative presence.

The upper section is adorned with traditional vase and bonsai motifs, symbols of prosperity, harmony, and good fortune in Chinese culture. The Eight Immortals themselves represent blessings, longevity, protection, wisdom, and happiness, making this textile both visually striking and deeply meaningful.

This piece remains in fair vintage condition consistent with age and use. The embroidered sections are still well preserved and retain their beautiful detailing. There are areas of wear and fabric loss to the textile, as shown in the photographs. Old piece and one of a kind.
